Okay so bear with me as I figure this blogging thing out. This is my first picture board I've attempted so they will more than likely keep getting better. I mean it only can right? This here is Grayden (& his mommas) month one and two favorites. Obviously everything is not on here but the biggies are. The things that I probably couldn't have lived without. Take it or leave it..it makes no difference to me! :)
I feel that if I didn't drink these some days I probably wouldn't have gotten a bite to eat. They are super healthy for you and don't have all that extra crap in them just filling you up with the crap. I, myself tend to like about three flavors that are über delish: Mighty Mango, which is pineapple-y and mango-y (well duh, the name) Green Machine, which is alot of veggie stuff but it doesn't taste like your drinking a jug of broccoli but more like souped up apple juice and Red Machine, which is your standard strawberry-y flavor with that yummy hint of raspberry and pomegranate.
I have a love/hate relationship with my breast pump. On one hand I love the thing to pieces because it allows me to be away from Gray for awhile but on the other hand I feel as if pumping contributed to my two bouts of Mastitis I went through. (more than likely has nothing to do with the pump but a girls gotta have someone or something to blame, right?)
With all those breast pump parts you've gotta have somewhere to go with them to dry...especially if you're one of the few like me and don't have any extra parts yet so you're washing and setting them out to dry about 10 times a day. Word of advice though: go for the Lawn versus the Grass. It's a bit bigger. I feel like I'll either be making the Lawn purchase or buying another Grass eventually..especially once I've got bowls, plates, spoons, and whatever else goes with the baby food stages.
I honestly feel like this list could be complete if this were the only thing on the list. Grayden wouldn't take any other kind of pacifier and the Soothie pacifier without anything attached would constantly fly out of his mouth with just the forcefulness of his sucking. I actually just bought a second one of these because to wash them you just throw them in the washing machine and when it was in there I would be stuck holding the Nook in his mouth until it was washed and dried. So now we have a elephant wub and the red "Clifford" dog. They have the most CUTEST dragon I saw on Amazon I'm dying to get next.
This one is a no-brainer. Baby = doing laundry...ALOT. Some people go for dreft, I felt that I could not justify the $20 teeny tiny bottle so I went for a more middle ground route. This soap runs us about half the price of Dreft and I've never had a problem with it. (knock on wood!) To each their own, I'm most definitely not a "All" salesperson.
I felt like these were the only socks I could put on Grays little feet and get to stay on the entire day. Every other pair came off 20 times a day and it got sickening. He's just about outgrown these so I suppose I'll have to find some more in a bigger size or just succumb to retrieving lost socks and reapplying them the 20 times a day routine.
We weren't sure if Gray would take to a swing or not and being they are a little bit of a chunk of change we were able to borrow this swing from a couple of friends we have just to test it out before buying one of our own. Needless to say..he took to the swing just fine. So now that our friends are expecting their second baby any day now I suppose it is time to go out and buy a swing of our own. Word of advice: I would find one that has the option of either battery powered OR plugging it into the outlet. I swear I've spent the same amount of money on batteries as it would be to buy the swing brand new. Uffda.
I got this as a mid-pregnancy gift from my mom and It helped SO much with learning all the holds and positions of breastfeeding. I had taken it to the hospital with me because I read on a few other blogs that it was a good idea to and was I ever glad I brought it. Not only did it help me with breastfeeding but it was nice to use that as a positioning pillow in bed at night because I had had a Cesarean Section. Plus, it's super soft minky, has a burp cloth that came with it, and a little tab that you move from one side to another to remember what side you fed from last. (Score!)
I've been trying to get Gray to start grasping things with his little mitts and the texture of this toy is so nice it will make it easy to grab for him (I'm hoping!) Plus it has little rattle parts on it. How can ya' go wrong with that. And for the small price? Another plus.
Last but not least is the breast shield. I had a lactation consultant visit me in the hospital to help with breastfeeding and they came to the conclusion that my nipples were too tiny for Gray to actually feel in his mouth so they gave me one of these little thingers and it became ten times more easier for me to get him to actually latch and eat. I've heard pros and cons to using these but he's gaining weight just fine and I've had no problems with supply levels so for now, I continue to use them. Turns out having junior sized nipples isn't the most horrible thing in the world..even you can breastfeed.
So, tell me, what would you add to the list?
Now to finish off our reading with a picture of the cutest boy around. My mister Grady-pants. :)
